Documentary feedback

I created a google form simply asking "What are your overall thoughts on my documentary?" This is a very broad question but I felt that was a good way to get the viewer to let all of their thoughts out.  I showed my documentary to three people and I wanted to see exactly what they thought about it, both positive feedback and constructive criticism to help me get a good understanding of any last adjustments I need to make before publishing my documentary.

Post-production diary

Monday 11th April 2022 I began editing by putting all of the clips that I recorded into Capcut and then watched them all through and cute them down to using the split tool. I then rearranged the order of all the clips to how I felt made the most sense. After this I added in the audio recordings and put them over the clips I filmed that didn't have me already talking in them. I cut out the parts where I misspoke and where there were large gaps, I also used the split tool for this. After this I added in captions that said the questions that I was answering to make it less confusing and so there is a clear understanding of what I am talking about. I used the add text tool for this. Finally I went on Bensound and downloaded two songs that I liked and felt went well with the mood of my documentary.  Tuesday 12th April 2022 For the final day of editing I added an introduction screen with the title of my documentary and my name followed by a brief explanation on what my documentary...

Production diary

Saturday 9th April 2022  For the first day of production I decided to record all the shots that I want to use under the voice over that I will be recording tomorrow. I shot this using my phone since I forgot to borrow a camera but this is still sufficient as the quality is relatively clear. The shots included a a shot that pans across my desk where all of my CDs were to showcase them, multiple clips of watching concert videos, music videos etc. to show the variety of content that can be found. I also screen recorded my timeline on twitter to show the communities that have been created.                                                                      I then added clips of me working on music production whilst I was talking about how musicians and fans online can influence you to create. I also added ...

Pre-production forms

Location Scouting The location scouting sheet is the first form to fill out and this is to look at and evaluate the location to make sure that it is suitable for what will be filmed there. In this case it is my house and so it was relatively easy to list parking areas and so on. Location Release The location release is the next form to be filled out and signed, the purpose is to get permission to film in this location and can be used as proof that permission was given if any issues arise. Contributor Release The contributors form is to get official permission from anyone who may be contributing to the filming process whether it be actors or people helping out with lighting etc. It also outlines things that the contributors need to be aware of such as the fact that parts are likely to be cut in the editing process and that the final product will be up online.  Resource List The resource list is more so for organisation purposes, it is to list all of the equipment that will be ...

Rationale feedback

I created a survey to send to the people I showed my survey to ask for their feedback. This helps me to see what I did well and what I could improve upon. The people I pitched my idea to were also within my target audience and so that makes their feedback extremely important.  The first question I asked was what the participants thoughts were on the layout of my pitch. All three of them seemed to enjoy it, specifically the colours I used which was a few shades of purple. The next thing I asked was whether or not my pitch was enjoyable and all three participants said that it was which is very good to know since a lot of time was spent making this pitch. I next asked what I could do to improve my pitch and make my product the best that it can be. The responses were similar in that I did not explain everything in a lot of depth. The first person said I need to explain my ideas in more depth which I am assuming is about my ideas for the actual documentary and that is something that is ...
